There are over 1,000 onboard sounds and voice samples. Every instrument is extremely customizable. There are 15, yes, FIFTEEN, inputs. So that means you can buy a few more cymbals, rack them up, and give them their own, unique sound. USB is supported for data swapping as well.Every pad has multiple strike zones and each one is velocity sensitive. This means a bow shot produces a high ring, a rim shot makes a resounding pop, and a cross shot on the tom produces a metallic clank - the volume depends how hard you hit it! This, combined with the realism and high quality of sound, makes the Yamaha DTXtreme III THE BEST ELECTRONIC DRUM KIT ON THE MARKET. It far surpasses the Roland TD sets in sound and expressivity. The only thing Roland used to have over Yamaha were the mesh pads, but the DTXtreme III features new rubber pads which brings Yamaha MUCH closer to par. You will never have to worry about replacing drum heads or your sticks - the rubber pads are extremely durable and save your stick from duress.All pieces, with the exception of the bass drum, plays flawlessly. The bass drum had a manufacturing error which causes it to be less sensitive to strikes from the pedal. This is EASILY remedied by simply raising the bass output volume for the kit you have selected.The throne isn't fantastic, but it gets the job done.The Bass Pedals are amazing. I've set them up pretty well so you don't have to worry about it.
